Attorney Kunal Patel is of counsel to the firm for tax related issues related in real estate transactions.

Mr. Patel graduated from the University of Texas at Austin, recognized on the University Honors List. Subsequently, he graduated from the University of Houston Law Center where he was invited to the Houston Business and Tax Journal after successfully competing in the write-on competition.

After law school, Kunal decided to pursue his interest in tax by working for the IRS. His experience at the IRS provided him with a unique perspective of IRS procedures and policies. There's a way the IRS should work and the way it actually works. He is able to provide practical and creative solutions for resolving tax problems. After the IRS, Kunal worked for KPMG LLP, where he provided expat tax services to assignees of multinational corporations. He specializes in cross-border tax issues involving expatriates and foreign nationals. He fully understands the onerous reporting requirements for those with foreign assets and foreign income - including Passive Foreign Investment Companies, FBAR, and FATCA reporting.
